General Mahmoud Sharawi, minister of local development, has received a report from the ministry's operations room and crisis department on the governorates efforts over the past 48 hours in implementing the President's directives and the prime minister's instructions with regard to dealing with construction violations, removing encroachments on state land and property, and responding to attempts by certain citizens to take advantage of current state conditions in the course of implementing precautions  to address the spread of the coronavirus.
Major general Mahmoud Sharawi mentioned that the governorates have succeeded in recovering 3 million and 168,000 square meters of state property and land and 6880 acres of land that had been encroached upon by citizens in many governorates in the past time that building, planting and fencing buildings have been constructed on them, taking advantage of the current circumstances  in the country during the current period in the course of the implementation of precautions to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
The minister of local development explained that the report indicated that the governorates , in coordination and cooperation with security directorates and law enforcement forces, have successfully eliminated 396 cases of encroachment on state property, bringing the total to 2578 cases, bringing to 3 million and 168,000 square meters recovered so far since presidential assignments. A total of 135 agricultural encroachments on state property have been removed, bringing the total number of removals to 483 acres, resulting in some 6880 acres of encroachment by citizens. During the period leading up to Monday many irregularities  and random construction were removed over 200,000 square meters. A total of 6379 removed cases over 1539 acres have been carried out since directives from the political leadership and prime minister's instructions.
General Mahmoud Sharawi praised the efforts made so far by the governorates to eliminate all encroachments on state land and violent  construction. The minister of local development stressed the importance of continuing on  in order to avoid exploiting citizens and encroaching on state lands and property on the coming off days because of the Easter celebrations . Sharawi also called for the mobilization of all the competent governorate bodies to monitor and deal  strictly and promptly with all violations during the curfew  and throughout the day, and to take immediate legal action in this regard.
